It reminds me of a time when Patti was little, and we were driving past a Catholic Church. On the sidewalk we saw three nuns walking.

Patti said:

"Mommy, look at those penquins walking down the street!"

Tomorrow,  I'm picking Hunter up from school for some "girl time".  I miss her!

YEY, I'm oficially on holidays! To celebrate, I had a late lunch with a friend at the promenade of S.Pedro, while enjoying the sun for the first time in a couple of weeks. Just some girl talk and an awesome view, is there any better way to relax? BTW, best of luck to those of you who still have exams!!

Sparkle Plenty....

I don't think I was much for dolls growing up, but I do remember "Sparkle Plenty"

In those early years, with Dad being in the Service, we travelled all over the states, and Sparkle rode along.  Two things I remember: 

My brother, my first best friend, would try to hide her from me, and I was always squealin' "Mama, make Bubba give me back my doll!"

One time, I had put Sparkle in the space behind the seat and obviously forgot about her for a time.  I remember Dad saying "You better turn Sparkle over, she's getting a sun tan."  Aw, the things we remember!

Fish scale house and old postcards from l905-1925

As you can see, this is supposedly the only "fish scale house" in the world.  This house in St. Augustine (l905 photo) was built by Albert B. Smith and covered in fish scales.  No one is certain what became of the house; some claim it was moved to St. Louis for the World's Fair.  Others claim it was demolished. This photo was  made into a postcard.

I have a postcard that was mailed to me around 1969 sent by my daughter when she was on a trip to Key West with my parents:

Tips Membeli Sepatu

Kalau dulu saya pernah mengeposkan tentang macam-macam sepatu, sekarang akan mengeposkan tentang Tips Membeli Sepatu.....

Sebelum kamu membeli sepatu, ada yang perlu kamu perhatikan nih....tips-tips di bawah ini. Lumayan buat bekal sebelum beli sepatu. 

• Usahakan membeli sepatu pada siang atau malam hari. Kenapa demikian? karfena pada siang dan malam hari kaki berada pada bentuk/ volume normal dan kaki telah digunakan untuk berbagai macam aktivitas. Sedangkan pada pagi hari, bentuk/volume kaki agak mengecil. 

• Gunakan Kaos kaki atau Stocking pada saat mencoba sepatu yang akan kita beli. Untuk mengantisipasi agar sepatu muat, atau tidak sesak ketika digunakan menggunakan kaos kaki

• Kalau koleksi sepatumu masih sedikit. Usahakan memilih warna-warna netral. Jadi kamu tidak bingung, saat ingin memadukan dengan busana warna apapun. Atau bisa kamu sesuaikan dengan warna wardrobe koleksimu yang mayoritas.

• Jika kamu ingin membeli sepatu untuk kebutuhan aktivitas yang berat seperti untuk olahraga, atau kerja di lapangan, pilih sepatu yang memiliki pori-pori besar. agar kaki tidak lembab.

• Kalau kamu hoby koleksi sepatu, dan suka gak tahan kalau lihat trend sepatu yang baru, mending kamu pikir-pikir dulu deh, kira-kira sepatu yang bisa in dalam waktu yang cukup lama. Jadi kamu gak boros.

• Update. Uapdate tentang model-model sepatu terbaru. Jangan sampai kamu beli sepatu yang udah out of date.

• Yang paling penting nih, belilah sepatu sesuai dengan Budget kamu. Kalau belum mampu, gak usah dipaksain. Jangan sampai uang kebutuhan lain kamu paksain buat beli sepatu idaman

• Nyaman. Sepatu yang anda pakai haruslah nyaman di kaki anda. Jangan sekedar membeli sepatu yang tampilannya Waw...tapi ternyata setelah dipakai, bikin kaki pegel-pegel. Makannya pas kamu lagi milih sepatu, kamu coba pakai sambil jalan-jalan disekitar toko.
