Joy....

I love this child.  So much!

In a short 2 1/2 months we're expecting my 2nd great granddaughter.

And, I can hardly believe how fast the past five

years have gone since Hunter came into our world.

I'm reminded also when my granddaughter was born, 24 years ago.

Until she was four, I thought I'd never be able to love another

grandchild like I loved Brit.  And, then our Ben arrived on the scene.

You know, I've given this a lot of thought.  And, my belief is that

we don't love the "same", but we love exactly just as much as each child

is different with their unique and precious ways. 

I couldn't have loved that wonderful boy and young adult any more,

as I still do and always will.  As I type, my heart aches and tears in my eyes,

 yet as I've said many times, that beautiful child brought so much joy into all

of our lives, and when people ask me how many grandchildren

I have, I respond with a smile "I have two one of whom is with the Lord."

As we await the arrival of Rylan in October, my heart is overflowing

as I also can't believe how much love is already stored in my heart for her.

Hunter told me the other day, "You can call Rylan your punkin pie

(what I've always called her), you can start callin' me Princess!"

Amen, big sister, I can do that!
